Multiple Action Blackjack

This game is sometimes referred to as Triple Action Blackjack and is very much like traditional blackjack. It allows players to bet up to three times while playing on the same hand. All players place their bets before the cards are even dealt, but they can also place and split up individual bets on each round for a specific total if they wish. After the third round is played, the dealer compares his cards to each player and pays out all winning and tied hands and then removes chips from all of the losing players.

Spanish 21

This is quite a well-known variant of the blackjack game. Spanish 21 uses between six and eight Spanish card decks that total 48 cards. All four of the tens are taken out of the deck, which give the dealer a slight house advantage. A lot of benefits and bonuses are later given to the player to help even out the odds. The rules vary among different casinos, but some of the player advantages include late surrenders, re-splitting of Aces, doubling down or hitting after splitting Aces and the doubling on cards of any number. Scoring a five card blackjack in this game pays out at 3:2 odds, six card blackjack pays 2:1 odds and seven card blackjack pays out at 3:1. Mixed suited hands pay out at 3:2, while same suit odds are 2:1. Generally, dealers can “stand” or “hit” on soft 17 and basic rules say that players with a total of 21 always win the hand.

Perfect Pairs Blackjack

This is a rather interesting variant on conventional blackjack as it allows players more of a chance to beat the house. A very easy game to play, it allows for players to get an additional bet in order to try and pull two cards to make a pair. This only applies to the first two cards that are dealt to the player. The initial cards are present face up and at least one of the dealers cards are face down. Perfect Pairs is played with 4 to 6 decks and blackjack still allows a player to receive automatic wins.

21st Century Blackjack

This is a modern version of traditional blackjack that is played in numerous California Card Rooms. Players get the chance to wager either as the player or the dealer (Banker). If wagers are made as the player, they must hit on 12 or less and must stay on hard 20 and up. They can also double down on 11 or 12 and draw up to a maximum of two cards. If wagers are made as the banker, they must hit soft 18 or less and must stay on hard 18 or more. If the banker reveals a Joker upcard, then the player may not draw any more cards.

Face Up 21

This game is played with the usual 8 deck spread and played with 52 cards that are shuffled before each round. Specific rules apply to doubling down and splitting cards. Both of the dealer’s cards are dealt face up and he must hit consistently on a soft 17. Blackjacks automatically win and if tie occurs with a blackjack, the player always wins. This is an exception if a tied blackjack happens between the player and dealer after any initial rounds are played. In this case, the dealer wins and breaks the tie.

Blackjack Switch

If you’re looking for a game that offers players the lowest house edge, this would be the one. That being said, to form blackjack strategies can sometimes be a little complex for beginning players. The rules state that if the dealer scores 22 his hand does not bust, instead, it is counted as a push against all hands. The only time a “push” is overridden is when a player presents a blackjack. A blackjack pays an even size bet of 1:1 and the dealer must hit on a soft 17.

Double Attack

This game provides some unique twists and has some interesting rules for playing. The first twist is that this game utilizes 4 to 6 Spanish decks and each deck contains 48 cards with all four tens removed. It also differs from normal blackjack in that after the first cards are dealt, players can choose to increase or lower their bets according to their original wagers. Players can double down or surrender at any point in the game.

Double Exposure

One of the more popular games that you find in a lot of casinos is Double Exposure. It is also one of the more profitable games for players. Aside from the dealer having to expose both of his initial cards, players must also split only once during any round of play. The dealer wins all ties, except for players who pull a blackjack. Blackjacks in this game pay even money, unlike other variations. Insurance bets are not allowed as there is no dealer hold card in the deck. Similar games to this version are Dealer Disclosure and Face Up 21.
