Do I have to be sure before I call?
No. Call 800 558 822 if gambling is costing you money, sleep, work, or a relationship. You do not need a diagnosis to ask for a conversation.
Signs it has stopped being a game
- The money is someone else's
- Rent, food, a loan, or money you told yourself you would not touch. If the stake is a bill, stop.
- You hide it
- A second account, a deleted history, or a story about where the money went. Secrecy is part of the pattern.
- You chase
- The next session is there to win back the last one. The amount goes up because the loss feels unfinished.
- You cannot stop when you said you would
- The limit was real until you crossed it. Then it moved. That is the point to get help, not the point to prove you can handle one more hour.
Who to call
Call 800 558 822, Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 16:00. This is the national gambling helpline run by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. The call is free and anonymous, for players and for people close to them. You can also write to [email protected]. Start at usciredalgioco.iss.it.
Outside those hours, call Telefono Amico on 02 2327 2327. It answers every day, around the clock, and you can call without giving your name. Telefono Amico does not charge for the conversation. The call costs whatever your operator charges for a landline. If someone is in immediate danger, call 112.
Barring yourself
The Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) lets you bar yourself from remote gambling. You can bar every licensed operator, one operator, or one type of game. A bar on every operator also stops you opening a new account with them. An indefinite bar can be lifted only after nine months. A bar for a set period can last up to 270 days, and you cannot end it early. You file it with SPID on adm.gov.it, or through an operator where you already have an account.
A bar there does not close an account at a casino that does not check it. Ask that casino to close the account as well.

Can I call about someone else?
Yes. The helpline will talk to someone close to a player. You still cannot put them on a self-exclusion list. Only they can do that.
Can Black-jack.net close a casino account for me?
