Gambling Addiction

If gambling has stopped being a game, you do not have to sort that out on a blackjack site. Call someone whose job is this conversation.

You do not need a diagnosis to call. Spielen ohne Sucht will talk to players, and it will talk to families. The call is anonymous. We do not receive it, and we do not put you on a list here.

Help in Switzerland

Phone hours are also on the responsible gambling page.

Spielen ohne Sucht
Free, anonymous advice, open 24 hours, for you or for someone you are worried about. Call 0800 040 080. The advice is in German. During office hours the call goes to Perspektive Thurgau. Outside those hours it goes to Die Dargebotene Hand Bern.
Gambling ban
A gambling ban is entered in a register used by Swiss casinos and operators of large-scale games. It is not limited in time. A ban you ask for yourself can be lifted three months after it is registered. It covers land-based and online casino games in Switzerland and, since 7 January 2025, Liechtenstein, plus games such as Swisslos and EuroMillions. It does not close an account at a casino outside that register, and it does not replace counselling.
Die Dargebotene Hand
If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call 143. Die Dargebotene Hand is anonymous and open every day, around the clock. In immediate danger, call 112.

If you are worried about someone else

Spielen ohne Sucht will talk to you even if you are not the person gambling. Call 0800 040 080. A gambling ban is something the player asks for. Gam-Anon is peer support for people close to someone with a gambling problem. You do not have to wait until they ask.
